remember when i mentioned on twitter a couple of weeks ago, that i finally visited the antique shops in georgetown? well, here’s what i ended up taking home: a giant love sign. i’ve always wanted big vintage letters on our wall, but o my gosh, these things are expensive. most of the ones i found are well over 100 bucks per letter, and they are always in random sizes and colors. these ones i found couldn’t have been more perfect. they are huge (each letter is 2′ X 2 1/2′), reasonably priced (under $200 for all 4 letters), and most of all, they spelled out my favorite word (what can i say? i’m cheesy). i put the letters on the only wall in my house that can fit them, and placed them in the style inspired by the famous robert indiana sculpture. they look absolutely dramatic and delightful. i love my love sign.
i got the vintage letters from useful vintage. they have a lot of antique industrial furniture and decor. i was coveting a sleek gold 70’s lamp, a mint condition corrugated steel garbage can, and a giant farm house table that would have made sixx design very happy. useful vintage is the new kid on the block, but i highly recommend checking them out whenever you’re in georgetown next!
