oldie but a goodie: french macarons

while cleaning out my hard drive, i found some slightly old (about a year) photos.  here’s one of the french macarons i made for my friend’s engagement shoot.  i was really into baking last year.  especially french macarons.  those suckers are so hard to master, that i must have made 20+ batches before finally getting the hang of it.  in the end, i have to say that it is quite rewarding to see how cute they turned out.  i might need to dust off my kitchenaid mixer and give them another twirl.

more oldie but a goodie photos to come.

oomph.

Wow, nice job on the macaroons!! I’ve read about these, but never heard of anyone making them. I can imagine they’re quite difficult to make! Your set up looks so pretty!

super difficult, but if you get it right, it’s so worth it. i totally understand why they charge so much for these things.

Ok! You have to tell us your recipe! I baked some myself a while ago and the 1st time when came out all wrong. The second time they were ok but nothing like yours!
Also, please tell us when you got those tea cups sets. They’re gorgeous!

i’ve tried every recipes out there on the net. my favorites are either the italian meringue way or tartelette’s french meringue way.

the teacups are vintage, which you can find in your local antique shops or on ebay. probably not the exact same ones as mine, but there are so many pretty ones out there. i kind of started collecting them about 2 years go. to see my little collection go here
